The Doctrine of
Original Beer

Why Doctrine Brewing? What is the doctrine? It's about staying true to our core principles: originality, quality, and purpose.

In a world where profit often takes priority over purpose, we stand firm. We refuse to compromise on ingredients or character just to please the masses. Our beers are crafted with distinction — distinct from the ubiquitous offerings of other breweries.

By trying to please everyone, we risk exciting no one. Our doctrine is simple: brew beer that is truly original, using quality ingredients that are non-negotiable. This is the path less travelled, and it's the only path for us.

— Doctrine Brewing

Brewing Beyond
the Ordinary

Our philosophy is rooted in a steadfast commitment to originality. We believe that great beer starts with a clear purpose and a refusal to cut corners. Every ingredient is chosen for its quality, every recipe is crafted to excite, not just to satisfy.

“We don't follow trends — we set our own standard. Flavour is our compass, quality is our creed.”

From the selection of malts and hops to the brewing process itself, every decision is driven by a desire to create something truly exceptional and memorable.

Pale 1 Amber Dark 40

Alcohol Content

ABV %
Alcohol by Volume — the standard measure of how much alcohol is in the beer, expressed as a percentage of total volume.
Light 2% Mid 6% Strong 12%

Flavour & Bitterness

Hops 🌿
Subjective & varied — adding different hops during the brewing process creates bitterness, aroma and taste from the oils of the female hop vine.
Subtle Balanced Bold

Where Flavour Comes Alive

What you taste are the oils from the female flower of the hop vine — bitterness, aroma and taste depend on when they enter the kettle.

Timing is everything. Hops added early in the boil contribute bitterness, while late additions and dry-hopping bring aroma and flavour.

Our brewing doctrine emphasizes the use of quality hops to create distinctive profiles. From the herbal notes of African Wormwood in our pilsner to the bold complexity of our porters, each beer tells a story of ingredient integrity.

We source hops that align with our vision — from classic varieties like Saaz and Fuggles to more expressive ones like Citra and Mosaic. The result is a range of beers that are as diverse as they are delicious.
